Baekcheon Valley

Baekcheon Valley

Located at the base of Mt. Cheongok (1,276m), Baekcheon Valley is renowned for its clear water. The water is icy cold and therefore is inhabited by Yeolmogeo (freshwater salmon) that only live in fresh and clean water. This is the southernmost habitat of Yeolmogeo. Yeolmogeo is designated as the Natural Monument No. 74.

Seokcheon Valley

Seokcheon Valley

With clean water, a dense pine forest and oddly shaped rocks, the surroundings of Seokcheon Valley are magnificent to behold. The water is not very deep and therefore this valley is ideal as a vacationing spot. Right next to the valley stands Seokcheonjeongsa built with Chunyangmok, forming a spectacular view against the background of the beautiful valley.

Samijeong Valley

Samijeong Valley

Samijeong Valley is located at the upper course of Wungokcheon Stream. The water is clear and cold. The Sami Pavilion is located next to the valley.

Goseon Valley

Goseon Valley

A water stream originating from Mt. Taebaek forms a virgin forest valley extending several kilometers. With beautiful geographical features and clear water, Goseon Valley is known as an ideal camping site. According to F feng S shui, this valley has a 'propitious site where nine horses are tied to a single pole'. Therefore, Goseon Valley is also called 'Guma (nine horses) Valley'.

Maeho Resort

Maeho Resort

Wungokcheon Stream of the Nakdong River originating from Mt. Taebaek merges with the main stream of the Nakdong River. Therefore, this is marked as the official starting point of the Nakdong River. With an abundance of fish, such as carp and sweet smelt, Maeho Resort is popular among sports fishermen. The river flowing around Mt. Cheongnyang forms a spectacle, which makes this area a great driving course. Mountain climbing in Mt. Cheongnyang and rafting can be enjoyed in this resort.
