Mt. Cheongok Natural Recreational Forest
Located along the national road between Bonghwa and Taebaek, this natural recreational forest is an ideal location to enjoy a therapeutic walk in the forest.
The convenience facilities include a mountain lodge, youth camping site, youth training center and various accommodation facilities.
Mt. Cheongok Recreational Forest is located at 896m above sea level. This is 40m higher than Daegwallyeong. So, even in summer, the area is free from mosquitoes and flies.
As the largest natural recreational forest in Korea, Mt. Cheongok Recreational Forest is an ideal family trip destination. Rich with armful white pine, red pine and larch trees more than 100 years old, Mt. Cheongok Recreational Forest also has facilities for tourists' enjoyment, such as a swimming pool, children's playground, physical workout area and a mountain lodge.
The swimming pool is built on the natural valley. So, the water is crystal-clear and icy cold. The youth training center helps children training their bodies and minds surrounded by beautiful nature.
Around the top of Mt. Cheongok, two helicopter landing sites are located. Mt. Cheongok is a mountain of all mountains that is much celebrated as a space to enjoy the magnificent sunrise.
