Baekdudaegan National Arboretum

Baekdudaegan National Arboretum
Located in Seobyeok-ri, Chungyang-myeon, Bonghwa-gun, the Baekdudaegan National Arboretum largely consists of the Ecology Exploration Zone and the Key Development Zone. The Ecology Exploration Zone is where visitors can fully experience the well-preserved natural state of forests with Geumgang pine trees as the representative species as well as the 550-year-old royal azalea -- the country’s oldest -- and azalea habitats. The Key Development Zone consists of Mirowon made of thuja trees, Gyogwaseowon, and Adventure Forest; it is designed to induce visitors’ interest in plants especially through a Seed Vault. The highlight is the Tiger Forest where Siberian tigers are released as part of systematic preservation efforts. Thanks to its main attraction, the arboretum has drawn a lot of attention.
