T he 2008 documentary film “Wonangsori” directed by Lee Chung-ryul features an elderly farmer, Choi Won-gyun, and his cow from Sangun-myeon, Bonghwa-gun. This special documentary film took three years to make, capturing some of the most beautiful sceneries of nature in Bonghwa County. The film won the PIFF Massena Award (Best Documentary Award) in the Pusan International Film Festival in 2008 and became the first documentary film to compete in the Sundance Film Festival in 2009. Baekdudaegan V-train for “You Are the Best!” (KBS2) and “Modern Farmer” series (SBS)
Baekdudaegan V-train became the backdrop of the popular TV series “You Are the Best! (2013)” and “Modern Farmer (2014).” Running at 30km/h, the train traverses the deep valley of Bonghwa while making pleasing orchestra music consisting of the unique train sound and gentle breeze made by nature. The train leaves from Buncheon Station and goes to Cheoram Station via Bidong Station, Yangwon Station, and Seungbu Station. Cheongamjeong Pavilion, the Location for the TV Drama “Dong Yi” and the Movie “Scandal”
D aksil Village, where Cheongamjeong Pavilion is located, is one of the four major attractions in the southern provinces in Korea according to the geography book “Taekriji” compiled by Joseon Neo-Confucian scholar Lee Jung-hwan. The village is also famous for the Gwon Clan originating from Andong with Gwon Beol aka Chungjae -- who was a renowned scholar from the mid-Joseon dynasty -- as the leading figure. Built on the right side of the head house, Cheongamjeong Pavilion has been famous for generations.
